Think Markets Review

Overall Score:
8.14
/
10

ThinkMarkets has been around since 2010, steadily growing from a small Melbourne brokerage into a global name with clients in over 160 countries. While they hold multiple licenses with top-tier regulators like the FCA in the UK and ASIC in Australia, this review zeroes in on their offshore entity, where traders get access to higher leverage (up to 1:200) in some jurisdictions and a wider range of products than in tightly regulated regions.

One thing that makes ThinkMarkets stand out is the mix of platforms. You’ve got the familiar MT4 and MT5 for traditionalists, but their own ThinkTrader platform has really gained attention, it’s intuitive, mobile-friendly, and comes loaded with more than 140 built-in indicators and smart trading tools. Combined with tight spreads, fast execution, and a strong reputation for reliability, it’s a setup that works for both beginners and experienced traders.

What I personally like here is that ThinkMarkets feels like a “global” broker in the true sense. You get thousands of instruments to trade: forex, shares, indices, commodities, crypto, even ETFs - without the sense that you’re being boxed into one style or asset class. For traders outside of stricter jurisdictions, it’s a flexible option that gives you room to trade the way you want, with fewer restrictions.

Safety & Regulation

Regulation is always one of the biggest factors we consider when sizing up a broker. ThinkMarkets is a multi-jurisdictional player, meaning they operate under several different regulators worldwide. This offers flexibility depending on where you’re based, but also creates some differences in leverage, protections, and available products.

For this review, we’re focusing on the offshore entity TF Global Markets (STL) which falls under the Saint Lucia regulator. Upon account sign up (more on this later) and dependent on your location you will be offered different entities.

Once again, the version of ThinkMarkets we selected is where you’ll find higher leverage and fewer trading restrictions—but, as always, it comes with lower investor protections than top-tier regulators like the FCA or ASIC.

ThinkMarkets are regulated by:

Seychelles: FSA
Saint Lucia: FSA
United Kingdom: FCA
Australia: ASIC
Cyprus: CySEC
South Africa: FSCA
Dubai: DFSA
Mauritius: FSC
New Zealand: FMA

Account Opening Process

Getting started with ThinkMarkets isn’t rocket science. The sign-up flow is pretty quick, just the usual identity checks and funding setup before you can hit the charts. What’s nice is that they don’t bury you in endless forms; it feels streamlined compared to some brokers. Since we’ll be walking through this step by step with screenshots, you’ll get a clear picture of what to expect when opening an account. Shall we dive right in?

Following a simple sign-up form ThinkMarkets offer the client an opportunity to set up a trading account there and then through the platform selection form.

With alternative brokers (especially those with Tier 1 restrictions) traders will be asked to complete the full verification process prior to opening a trading account and depositing. Through the Saint Lucia regulation ThinkMarkets provides the option to deposit up to $25,000 and trade for the next 4 months…

without providing any verification documents! However, you will not be able to withdraw. At FX Axe we always recommend completing the full verification to access all the features of ThinkMarkets, with no worries when it comes to withdrawing funds.

Once created the trader has the option to deposit via the ThinkMarkets Portal. Don’t stress! We will cover all the available deposit options in our next section. For now though, lets dive into some features YOU can access if you opt for ThinkMarkets as your forex broker.

The ThinkTrader platform embeds into the Portal making your life so much easier with TradingView integrated tools and visuals. Another cool feature is the ‘Trading Gym’.

This allows you to backtest specific strategies in different market conditions directly through the platform. Again, something that TradingView does offer on a subscription basis – but to access it directly through your broker is a very nice touch. We speak about education frequently across our forex broker and prop firm reviews. ThinkMarkets do not disappoint with their integrated educational platform videos.

Think Markets have gone above and beyond on the fundamental front. With a live news feed and plenty of daily statistics traders have access to a comprehensive market overview.

Working hand in hand, Think Markets also partner with Acuity Trading to provide the trader live market trade ideas and analysis through an FCA regulated entity. If you have read our other reviews we think highly of Acuity Trading and it’s a big plus for any broker to integrate. The depth of information is exceptional and the trader can use trade ideas and analysis in conjunction with their own trading style and strategy. You will have to deposit funds in order to access the trading signals provided by Acuity.

ThinkMarkets also run a loyalty scheme. However, I wouldn’t personally pay too much attention here. Each time you trade you earn points and climb the levels – but here’s the catch: you need to maintain a certain trading volume in order to stay in that reward tier. Essentially, if you focus on this it could lead to overtrading and a negative impact on your trading results.

Ease of Deposit & Withdrawal

Score:

ThinkMarkets makes it easy to get money into your account with a wide range of options like:

  • Bank Wire Transfer
  • Credit/Debit Card
  • Skrill
  • Neteller
  • Regional e-wallets

Deposits are typically processed instantly, and the broker doesn’t charge fees on the way in or out, which is a big plus.

A detail that stands out is the $25,000 deposit allowance without document verification. You can fund your account and start trading right away, but there’s a catch—withdrawals are locked until your KYC is fully complete. It’s a fair trade-off, but definitely worth keeping in mind if you want smooth access to your funds later.

Withdrawals, once you’re verified, are usually quick, with most processed within 24 hours. The actual time until the money lands in your account depends on the payment provider, but from ThinkMarkets’ side, things move pretty fast.

Trading Conditions

When it comes to trading conditions, ThinkMarkets keeps things flexible with three main account types—Standard, ThinkTrader, and ThinkZero. Each one is built with a different type of trader in mind, whether you’re after low deposits and simple spread-only pricing, or raw spreads with commission for sharper execution.

Here is a nice breakdown of the different account types. The key feature to note here is which platforms you are able to use depends on your account type selection. For example, ONLY the ThinkTrader account can use the TradingView integration and browser-based platform. The minimum deposits also change significantly. This makes it tricky for new traders without the funds to be flexible with their desired trading conditions.

  • Spreads: From 0.0 pips on the ThinkZero/Raw-style account (FX & metals).

  • Commission: Approx. USD 7 per standard lot round-turn (≈ USD 3.50 per side) on ThinkZero FX/Metals; Standard account is commission-free.

  • Execution / Order Fill Rate: 99.9% fill rate advertised for Standard account.

  • Leverage: Up to 500:1 for certain jurisdictions (e.g., Standard account).

  • Assets: Forex pairs, indices, commodities, shares CFDs, metals, futures CFDs.

  • Trading Style: Supports scalping, hedging and automated trading (EAs) via platforms like MT4/MT5 and proprietary platforms.

Platforms & Trading Tools

This is where ThinkMarkets really shines. You’re spoiled for choice:

Available Platforms:

  • MetaTrader 4 – Classic, dependable, ideal for most retail traders
  • MetaTrader 5 – A more modern layout, better suited to multi-asset setups
  • ThinkTrader: Sleek, modern, over 80 indicators, cloud-based alerts, integrated TradingView tools, plus unique features like the “Trading Gym” for backtesting strategies in simulated conditions.
  • TradingView – Fully integrated; trade directly from your charts

Assets Covered:

  • Forex
  • Commodities
  • Indices
  • Crypto
  • Shares
  • ETFs

Few brokers combine proprietary innovation with industry staples this well. Platform choice is one of ThinkMarkets’ biggest weapons.

Even the smoothest trading day can hit a snag, and that’s when good support matters. ThinkMarkets offers 24/7 live chat, plus options such as email, phone and contact forms, making it easy to reach a real human no matter where you are. Quick responses and multilingual support help keep your trading experience as hassle-free as possible.

As always, we test the live customer support chat and ThinkMarkets do a sterling job.

Ask for a human support agent, you receive a human support agent. No AI support attempting to solve problems whilst wasting your time. If live chat isn’t your preferred route, you have multiple options:

Speak with someone on the phone in one of their three global offices, use the contact form on their website.

Or check out their dedicated help centre which should answer most of your basic questions like how to open an account, or placing trades (If we haven’t answered them already!).

Overview

I came away from reviewing ThinkMarkets with a really strong impression. The mix of platforms—especially ThinkTrader and TradingView integration—feels modern and versatile, while the three account types give you room to grow depending on how serious you get with your trading. The offshore setup does mean higher leverage and more flexibility, which can be appealing if you know how to handle the risks.

What stood out most for me was the overall polish: deposits are quick, support is genuinely available 24/7, and the platform choice makes it easy to trade the way you want. For me, ThinkMarkets feels like a broker that manages to strike a balance between professional-grade tools and user-friendly accessibility, which isn’t something you find every day.
