It has just been announced that the Stockpair brokerage firm has come to an agreement with Lothar Matthäus, the famous ex-footballer from Germany. Through the agreement, Stockpair is entitle to use Lothar’s name and image in their marketing campaigns for a period of one year.
Lothar is a well-known footballer to Germans in their 40s and 50s as he played during the FIFA world cup in the 80s and 90s. He is also the most capped German football player of all time with 150 appearances by the time of his retirement. He has also won titles including FIFA player of the year and European Footballer of the year. Lothar Matthäus has also been a sports commentator on channels such as ITV.
This appears to be a change in marketing to a German demographic that is slightly older than average but will have more money to invest in online trading. This will be a boost for Stockpair as they try to expand in one of their key European regions.
Yoni Messika, the head of marketing at Stockpair commented on the deal “We have not rushed to initiating partnerships, and have only moved forward in this new direction due to having found a partner that truly stands up to and shares our values, beliefs, and drive for excellence.”
He also mentioned “Our partnership also emphasizes the synergies between football and trading, where preparation and execution are keys to success. We plan to actively promote the partnership with several key initiatives and we are anticipating a very successful cooperation”, added Stockpair’s CMO.”
Stockpair has been trading since 2010 and is part of the Nextrade family of businesses. It is licensed in the EU and regulated by CySec (Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission).
