OANDA Hires a Former FCA Case Manager to Run Its Global Compliance

Posted: 6th Nov 2026

Joanna Wilcox has joined OANDA as Global Chief Compliance Officer, the broker confirmed. She also serves as a Director of OANDA Europe Limited, the group’s UK entity.

In the global role, Wilcox oversees compliance across all of OANDA’s regulated entities worldwide. OANDA said she joins from Tradu and FXCM. Her LinkedIn profile lists FXCM, where she was Group Chief Compliance Officer from October 2024 to November 2026.

London's trading industry is coming home!

From the FCA to the broker side

Wilcox began her career in 2001 as a white-collar criminal defence solicitor at Bark & Co Solicitors. She then spent nearly seven years at Kennedys working on corporate criminal investigations.

She joined the Financial Conduct Authority in 2009 as a lawyer in its Enforcement and Market Oversight Division, and became a manager of investigation teams in 2014. Her profile lists concluded cases including Tesco plc in 2014, Worldspreads, LIBOR, EURIBOR, FX and the Blue Index insider dealing prosecution.

She left the regulator in 2018 for Spreadex as Legal & Compliance Manager and MLRO, holding the FCA SMF16 and SMF17 functions. She moved to IG Group in November 2021 as Head Retail Advisory.

Changes in OANDA and FXCM

Her arrival follows a year of change at both firms. Finance Magnates reported in March that FTMO founders Otakar Šuffner and Marek Vašíček became co-CEOs of OANDA as Gavin Bambury stepped down. In June, Lucian Lauerman was promoted to CEO of OANDA Europe Limited. OANDA Prop Trader began migrating clients to FTMO’s platform on 2 March 2026, leaving OANDA to focus on its core brokerage across eight jurisdictions.

Meanwhile, Jefferies, the owner of her previous employer, FXCM, sold the majority of its business to AvaTrade, while Finance Magnates exclusively reported that Trade Nation bought its UK client book.
