OANDA's Global Marketing Chief Joins FXTM

Posted: 18th Sep 2026

FXTM has named Darren Moffett, who ran global marketing at rival OANDA for nearly five years, as its chief marketing officer. He will work from FXTM's London office and oversee brand, proposition development and client value growth.

The hire brings in a marketer who led a direct competitor's campaigns until August, according to his LinkedIn profile. It follows FXTM's April decision to give up its UK license and upgrade to full broker status in the UAE.

Parent Exinity says its brands serve more than two million clients in over 150 countries.

Five Years at OANDA

Moffett joined OANDA in October 2021. In September 2023 the broker signed footballer Robert Lewandowski as its first global brand ambassador, a deal Moffett said matched its "smarter trading" brand promise.

FXTM Chief Executive Chafic Badr cited that background in the announcement.

"His strong track record in building compelling brand propositions and delivering customer growth" suits the expansion FXTM is pursuing, Badr said.

Moffett also fronted OANDA's move into prop trading. In October 2024 he told FinanceMagnates.com that most of the unit's traffic came from organic search and direct visits.

His tenure covered a change of owner. Private equity firm CVC agreed in February 2025 to sell OANDA to prop trading firm FTMO.

By June 2026, FTMO's co-founders held co-chief executive roles at OANDA. Moffett also sat on the board of Coinpass, OANDA's crypto business, his profile shows.

Gambling, Newspapers and Banking

Most of his career lies outside retail trading. Before OANDA he ran performance and content marketing at News UK, publisher of The Times and The Sun, and spent five years as chief marketing officer of gambling operator Rank Group.

Earlier roles include head of customer relationship management at bookmaker Ladbrokes and vice president of digital marketing at Canadian lender BMO.

Exinity has hired from outside the industry before: Group CFO Punit Ghumra joined in 2024 from payments firm Hubpay.

Olga Rybalkina, group chief executive of Exinity, said Moffett's "career path to date sets him apart from many in our industry." She tied the hire to changes in the media landscape.

FXTM was founded in 2011. Andrey Dashin launched Exinity in 2020, with hubs in Dubai, Limassol, London and Hong Kong.

Exinity's own list of regulators covers the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market, the UAE Capital Market Authority, and authorities in Kenya, Mauritius and South Africa. It carries no UK entry.
